How many people can Yukji-Jo accommodate?
Yuki-Jo houses nine bedrooms all boasting private ensuites, balconies and outstanding design features. With the capacity to sleep up to 18 people, Yuki-Jo is designed with a bedroom on the ground floor, six bedrooms on the third, and two on the top floor. A combination of single and double bed arrangements can be accommodated.
What is the composition of the Lodge?
- 1st Floor - Wine cellar, laundry and ski locker. toilet and storage room
- 2nd Floor - Bedroom#1, study, kitchen, Washitsu with grill tables, lounge, traditional Japanese rooms with corridor, Japanese garden and small bridge, toilet
- 3rd Floor - sauna, main bathroom (onsen style) six bedrooms, dining and living area, main kitchen
- 4th Floor - Lounge, large balcony with Japanese garden and all purpose area. More bedrooms and designer bathrooms
What are the dimensions?
Yuki-Jo incorporates a total land area of 1375 sqm. Total Floor area is 1038 sqm. The lodge is 1200 sqm and the property boasts wide street frontages and views of the mountains and volcano.
Are there any special instructions or operating manuals for the apartment? Are they in English? Japanese?
Yes, a simple instruction and operations manual in both Japanese and English will be available on arrival. Your Yuki-Jo host will also meet with you and personally conduct a familiarisation tour of the chalet, upon arrival.

Clothing
What do we need to bring?
Nothing! However - with plenty of storage space, a private lift and wine cellar- you won't have to worry about bringing or buying too much! Yuki-Jo will be fully self-contained with everything you need to settle in immediately. This includes bed and bath linen, kitchen and laundry appliances and cooking utensils. Japanese slippers, gourmet welcome basket and a small selection of dvds and cds will also be provided free of charge. Furano also boasts a selection of fantastic shops, cafes, restaurants and convenience stores, all in walking distance from Yuki-Jo.
What Clothes do you Recommend?
It's important to note that Furano experiences four distinct seasons - so your wardrobe should be able to respond to the sometimes dramatic and sudden changes in temperature or conditions. Winter gear is appropriate any time from late October through to late April, with summer nights still cool in the mountains. Strong walking/hiking boots and a warm jacket are good all year-round wardrobe essentials. Please refer to Furano tourism for more tips on what clothes to bring.
Cooking
Can we Cook at Yuki-Jo?
Yes, Yuki-Jo is the perfect self-catering holiday. Whether it's a traditional Japanese dinner or a contemporary Western meal, Yuki-Jo's kitchen and dining rooms are ready and fully equipped for you to unleash the ‘chef' within! The kitchen features a high capacity dish washers, 4-function integrated oven (microwave, grill, oven, steamer), traditional Japanese grill table, large breakfast counter, mobile kitchen island and marble top finishes. A small box of essential grocery basics will be provided on arrival, with a number of high quality supermarket and convenience stores available to stock up the kitchen with local produce.
Can we Hire someone to Cook for Us?
Yes, we can arrange for part or fully serviced catering arrangements during your stay. You may opt to ‘hire a chef' for a special event or dinner party and cook yourself for the remainder of the stay, or choose a fully catered package for the entire trip. Please note that this service would be at an additional cost would need advance notice.
Are there any restaurants or cafes nearby?
Yes, In Furano you will be spoilt for choice. Boasting a wide range of restaurants and cafes in both the ski area and surrounding communities, Furano has something to suit all tastes and budgets. Please visit the Furano Tourism website to view your dining options.
Cleaning
Is there a cleaning service available during our stay?
Yes, a comprehensive daily cleaning service is complimentary throughout your stay. Should you not require this service for any reason, please simply speak to your host during your stay.
Technology and Entertainment
Can I access the Internet at Yuki-Jo if I bring my laptop?
Yes, Yuki-Jo has a wireless connection throughout the house. An internet café is also located in the village.
Can we watch movies? Is it a multi-country Player?
Yes, Yuki-Jo has a number of high definition plasma TVs and blue-ray DVD players throughout, which read nearly all international DVDS. A small selection of well known movies is also provided free of charge for your enjoyment.
What about music? Any facilities?
Yes, a CD player and a small selection of CDs are provided, for your listening enjoyment.

What security features are there?
Furano is renowned for its safe community environment. To further add to your personal peace of mind, Yuki-Jo features an electronic locking system.

Location and Getting There
Where is Furano?
With a population of around 16,000 in the main town and 26,000 across the wider community, Furano is nestled at the foot of Japan's highest mountain range ‘Taisetsua' in the northern island of Hokkaido.
How de we get there?
There are many ways to arrive at Yuki-Jo. Transport options are varied and include rail, buses, rental car or private transfer. Furano is approximately 100km from Sapporo and is accessible from either New Chitose (Sapporo) Airport or Asahikawa International Airport, which is located only 20km away. Domestic flights to both areas operate daily. Nearly all of the major international airlines travel daily to Japan, with seamless connections from Tokyo to Hokaido in around 90 minutes. Please contact your travel agent or the Furano Tourism office for further information.
How do we find Yuki-Jo on arrival?
Upon confirming your booking, we will send you a detailed map and instructions on how to find Yuki-Jo. We will also introduce you to your very own ‘Yuki-Jo host who will assist with your arrival to the chalet.
Will there be anyone there to meet us? Do they speak English?
Yes, when staying at Yuki-Jo you will have access to your very own Yuki-Jo host who speaks Japanese and English and will be available to assist you with all aspects of your stay.

No, we provide only the accommodation component. Please contact Furano Tourism or your preferred travel provider to discuss options.

Can we hire ski equipment there?
Yes, Furano has a number of experienced and quality ski hire venues. Please contact skifurano.com or the Furano Tourism at http://www.furanotourism.com/english/hyperlinks/ski-rental.htm for listings.
Can we have ski lessons?
Yes, a number of highly experienced ski instructors are available to assist you during your stay. Please contact www.skifurano.com, or contact the tourist office. Lessons can also be arranged on arrival.
Is there storage for our ski gear?
Yes, Yuki-Jo has expansive storage areas for ski gear, along with a private lift to assist in moving heavy items.
Can we hire a car?
Yes, there are a number of car rental providers in Furano. However, please note that driving in winter can be dangerous. There are a number of transport options also available via train, bus, taxi, or private transfers. Please contact Furano Tourism at http://www.furanotourism.com/english/getting.htm to review options. During the winter season, we suggest bookings be made at least 30 days in advance.
Is there a Taxi Service on arrival and during our stay?
Yes, Furano has a number of taxi services available to transfer you from central points to Yuki-Jo and to assist you during your stay, if needed. Please see contacts below or contact the Tourism office for further details.
Bookings and Cost
How far in advance do we need to book?
Yuki-Jo is new to the accommodation market in Furano and offers a high quality, luxurious and convenient ‘home away from home'. With its popularity growing day-by-day, we recommend that you book as soon as possible avoid disappointment. Of course, you can always try your luck as we are also happy to take last minute enquiries!
How much does it cost to rent?
Yuki-Jo is priced accordingly to the ski-rental accommodation market for the medium to high-end range. Please refer to the bookings and availability page on this website for a current schedule of prices and availability.
Can you book individual rooms or is it booked as a whole?
Please note that Yuki-Jo is booked as an entire lodge and not as individual rooms. The price remains the same whether booking one or all rooms. This is reflected in our on line booking system.
Does the rate change at different times of the year?
Yuki-Jo offers rates and packages for peak (ski season) and non peak periods.
Can we pay individually or only as a group?
When booking with your friends and group members, we ask that one contact and payment be provided to keep things simple. Please refer to terms and conditions on our booking page.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, to secure your booking, we ask for an upfront 10% deposit for your stay within seven days of making your enquiry, or the booking will be automatically cancelled. Final full payment is required 30 days prior to the arrival date.
Is pre-payment required?
Yes, full payment for your stay at Yuki-Jo is required 30 days prior to arrival, or as negotiated with the booking agent, should your stay fall outside of these times.
Is there a cancellation fee?
The deposit amount will be lost if cancelling your booking 30 days prior to check-in. If your cancellation falls within 7 days prior to arrival the full amount is forfeited.
No show will result in forfeiture of full amount.
Can we pay online with credit card or via bank transfer?
Yes, we accept credit cards, although there is a levy attached. Please refer to the bookings page for further information.
Can we book just for a few days or is there a minimum period?
As Yuki-Jo is a fully self-contained ski chalet and designed for group getaways, there is a minimum stay of 7 nights in the winter and 4 nights in the summer months.
Other combinations are possible and we look forward to personally tailoring your accommodation period to suit your travel requirements. Please note that a short stay at Yuki-Jo will incur a higher cost. Please enquire through our booking page.
